Most people love it when as soon as their head hits the pillow they fall into a fitful sleep. If this doesn’t happen then the mind starts to roam over all the issues of the day and its usually the unpleasant happenings.Then you mentally start to to deal with them and before you know it you are tossing and turning. Here is a quick way to fall asleep quickly.
As soon as you get into bed, lay on you back using the number of pillows you usually do for your head. Don’t cross your arms or legs.
Now concentrating on your left foot. Concentrate on your left toes to your ankle. Imagine all of the stress that is in that area of your body flowing out from the top of the ankle down to the toes and out. Think about nothing else but all the tension in that area floating out. Now do the same thing with the right foot.
Now go back to the left leg and focus on the knee to the ankle and all the tension in that area floating out down through the tips of your toes. Then repeat for the right leg.
Alternating back and forth from left to right do the same for the following sections.
Left hip to knee – right hip to knee
Front of your mid-drift to hip
Small of your back to hip
Front under your arm pits to mid-drift-back under your arm pits to mid drift
Letting all of the tension from each of these sections flow through and out your toes
This exercise of how to get to sleep quickly means you must concentrate on nothing else but the stress and tension flowing out of your body in sections.
Now for the upper body
Left wrist to fingers and let the tension and stress flow out of the fingers…then do same for right
Then continue in following segments
Left elbow to wrist – right elbow to wrist
Left shoulder to elbow – right shoulder to elbow
The neck tension and stress should flow out evenly down both arms and out the fingers
Now for the head start at the jaw and slowly feel the tension and stress rise to the top of your head and out.
At this point your body should virtually feel weightless. Most people once they have learned to concentrate fully on the flow of the stress leaving their body never make it past the hip. This tip of how to fall to sleep quickly is just one of many visualization techniques that are really effective.
